Role: Lead Architect & Concept Design

The project is the refurbishment of an apartment in a 19th century mansion block in one of Knightsbridge’s most prestigious squares. The refurbishment entailed the removal of all internal partitions, services and finishes and the implementation of an ingenious new plan providing 2 bedrooms and bathrooms, a hallway, a separate kitchen and generous reception room, all within a footprint of 85 sqm.

The new scheme restores the generous proportions of the original building. The palette is restrained with an emphasis on high quality materials and craftsmanship in keeping with the character of the original architecture. Solid oak floors, muted white walls and joinery and solid marble fire surrounds and bathrooms complement the refined elegance of the original windows and shutters and new full height internal double doors. The new scheme provides the perfect setting for the client’s collection of rare antiques and valuable historic art pieces.
