Our commitment to sustainable design underlines our practice approach from the very beginning, before it became recognised as a global necessity worldwide. We work with clients and consultants to devise long-lasting, economically-viable solutions that help save materials and energy and reduce wastage.
The majority of our projects are Listed and Landmark buildings where the emphasis is to conserve historic material and where possible preserve features and where additions are made to use recycled materials or materials reclaimed. When we are working on new buildings we do not work on Greenfield sites. On brownfield sites or rural or urban contexts, we work only where there are existing structures. This approach we actively promote in our projects.
For the past 20 years we have systematically increased our knowledge in this sector and continue to improve our awareness as the industry evolves to build environmentally responsible architecture.
We achieve with our consultant team BREEAM 'Outstanding' and LEED™ 'Platinum' ratings , and relevant International Standards. We aim to bring our standards to regions where there are environmental differences.
We equally apply this approach to the furniture design, materials and finishes of the interior. We realise that projects require varying levels of sustainability and we work collaboratively with our clients and consultants to determine which features present the greatest value for money for each building. We aim with the team to consciously make sustainable decisions early in the conceptual sketch stages in order to both save time and money.
